About Me

About Me

Hello,

Currently, I am looking for a full time position that would help me gain work experience. I have a Bachelor of Environment from McGill University as well as a Bachelor of Applied Technology Geographic Information Systems from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. I have extensive field research experience and data collection using ArcGIS as well as a working knowledge of report writing and presenting the conclusions from those reports.

When I worked in the field at Stantec Consulting Limited I ensured that business workflows and processes were being coordinated and carried out as well as ensured that all the necessary paperwork was completed and organized. My experience in McGill’s Invasive Species Research Lab has taught me how to manage, analyze, and determine the quality of data and turn that data into professional, presentable environmental documents. Leading crews at Rocky View County has taught me how to deal positively with the public and fellow employees, as well as how to manage my time and other employees while working under intense scrutiny and pressure. Furthermore, I have coaching experience at the County, where I help field employees with the Countyworks GIS system. At SAIT, I have learned how to work independently to solve problems in the complete ESRI suite of products for such issues such as analyzing remote sensing data, processing photogrammetry and LiDAR data, and working within the boundaries of ArcGIS Enterprise and MS Access. As well, at SAIT I managed projects for outside clients and directing team members while also developing and creating workflows to implement complex processes. Also, I have learned how to complete drone flight plans and missions, analyze and interpret the collected flight data, and how to make these processes repeatable using Python and ModelBuilder. In addition, I have created apps within Collector for ArcGIS and used these apps for data collection out in the field, as well as creating web apps and maps in ArcGIS Online and Enterprise. I am willing to work shift work in remote locations and have extensive experience with physical and outdoors work in all weather conditions. These experiences have given me a varied skillset that I believe could benefit an employer.

I am available immediately and am very interested in working with you and assisting your company. Given my experience working in both a GIS and an environmental background, I am greatly interested by the ways that GIS services can be used in conjunction with environmental tasks. I hope you will take into account my field experience, GIS software knowledge, and environmental skills and that I am offered the opportunity to expand on my experiences to you in person. I can be reached by email at martinus.mceachern@gmail.com. Thank you for taking the time to visit my web page.

Sincerely,

Martinus McEachern
